Interesting 40s

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

40s is interesting. We are old enough to have matured through our experiences in life and young enough to not be dogmatic but open to other views. 40s is also beautifully laced with challenges. Growing children, ageing parents, high pressure job. Amidst the competing priorities, we lurk somewhere there hoping and wishing for sometime for ourselves. Where is the time really to think about “me”, many of us often fret. And inevitably we make the easiest compromise – neglect our health and well being.
In another 20 years, children will be out of the house, parents may not be with us and we may almost be on the home run to retirement. This would be the time to live for ourselves – Explore new continents, pick up new hobbies, go back to get that degree we always wanted, feed the poor… possibilities are endless.

We surely will have the time and money but I worry that years of neglect will not allow our health to keep up with the dreams we so desire to achieve.

I have wished health and happiness to my family and friends on their birthdays. I now make an attempt to take it a step further and share insights I have learnt and practised through the years and provide some helpful tips in achieving a healthy and happy life. Caring for our health and happiness is not a manifestation of compromise towards our other priorities. Instead, it is and should be the topmost priority for us to meet the challenges and rigour of 40s and the many more beautiful years that lay ahead of us. Consider these tips as long term investments which will yield unbelievable returns.

I intend to write a series focusing on one specific area per post. It will help with retention and application. Be with me in this journey and follow the posts. Keep a watch for the first one in the series in few days….

Stay fit and healthy!
